You can reinstall it if you have the original CD of MS Word. Make sure you make a backup of all your documents first by copying and pasting them all in a different location on your computer or another computer.
are you talking about rebooting or re-installing? if for some reason Word has become unresponsive, you can always kill the application or just reboot the whole computer. Next time you open Word it will tell you it just recovered some documents, (the documents that were open before you rebooted) you can save them so nothing is lost.
im having this same problem. im just going to reinstall windows xp off my disk.
