Microsoft XP Pro startup issues?

I turn on my computer and it'll load till the Microsoft screen with the scroll bar, then it restarts. Over and over and over. Anyone have a solution?

Normally if you cannot get past the splash screen the computer is having a problem with a device or driver. Do this:



Note: You can screw things up badly on some of these processes, particularly the repair of windows. Make sure you have your Windows CD, Driver DIsks, Activation Codes, and an Internet connection before proceeding!



Power up the computer



Start pressing the F8 key right away and press it every second until a boot menu pops up



Select start in safe mode



If the computer opens up, a pop up will occur that informs you that the computer was started in safe mode and asking if you wish to continue. Select YES.



If the computer boots up in safe mode the problem is almost certainly a driver. Safe mode loads default drivers and presents you with a basic computer, it exists to troubleshoot these problems.



If it boots, right click on the My Computer icon and select manage from the drop down menu. Select Device Manager in the left pane, then look for any device that has a red "X" on it. That is probably the culprit and you can reload the driver for that device.



If this does not work you can do what is referred to as a Repair Install of XP. Do the following if you need to:
