My microsoft outlook won't send attchments?

When I try to send an attachment using microsoft outlook (ie word document), it gets stuck in my outbox and won't delete. It slows my cpu down, too.

this should be one of two problems:

1. check your antivirus software is working probably since it might be malfunctioning on checking the outgoing emails with attachments

2. check with your hosting provider that your email space is withing right limits to accept sending the attachments.
