Copying Microsoft Word onto disc?

My Dell laptop didn't come with Microsoft Word. How can I copy the Word program from my desktop onto a disc to transfer to my laptop?

Microsoft is very picky about their licensing. You can use http://www.openoffice.org which is free and compatible with MS word documents. There is also http://www.zoho.com or http://docs.google.com/ that are online word processors you can use.

I would recommend the openoffice though. It includes just about everything MS Office does, and can import/export .doc document files.

the problem is that word makes a number of entries into the registry when it is installed so it needs to be installed rather than simply copying the program

either edit the registry and make all the needed entries by hand (a major pain) or do what other contributors suggest
use nero 8 demo and then you can do ..
I've tried this also but didnt work. I'm guessing you need the disk if not try limewire thats where i got mine from.
Copying won't work.Even if you took an image of it,you'd run into trouble registering it.

Try this Suite and see if you like it :The Fifth Element

Open Office.org is ok too.
