Can Microsoft Office 2000 run on a macbook?

I'm getting a new Macbook this coming fall, however, I'd like to have the microsoft programs on my new Mac. With the CD I have, can I install Office 2000? Or does the macbook already come with a version of Excel, Word, etc.?

You will need a Mac version of Microsoft office. Not the windows version.

PCs and Macs have their own specific software versions. Here is a list for Macs.

First off, as others have said, you need the Mac version, unless you plan to use Apple's Bootcamp or Parallels, both of which require a copy of Windows (read more here: http://www.macworld.com/2006/04/features... ). What I would suggest is just downloading NeoOffice, which is a open-source alternative to Microsoft Office (http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/inde... .) Also, your Macbook will have a trial of Office and iWork pre-installed, I believe.
Unless you have an intel MAC that allows dual boot to Windows, you cannot install the Windows version.
