I usually use the feature where you can send a conversation to Outlook (to save the conversation). I just accidentally closed a conversation I was having and I really needed some of the information discussed. Does Microsoft save (in temp files, somewhere) closed conversations automatically?

Sorry no such luck on the desktop side. On the server side, if you company has auditing enabled, they can get the data for you from the SQL database. Contact you IT department to find out.
