I was just wondering if the 80 GB Zune is the end of the line or if MIcrosoft is actually going to try to compete with the new iPod.
I believe that at the moment Microsoft is working on a handheld gaming system, but thats not to say that the 80 GB Zune IS the end of the line, but one must keep in mind that Microsoft doesn't have to compete in the Handheld media players catagory, because they make enough money selling other products.

Is it a letter size folded in two? If it is, open a blank document and select letter size landscape. In the Arrange menu, click on layout guide,click on the grid guides tab and select 2 columns. Go back to margins tab and format your margins. In the insert menu click on insert page after current page. Now you have two pages. Page 1 is cover and back of card and page 2 is inside cover and inside back. Now you are good to go. I hope that helped. Good luck!!

I think you save the first page as template and duplicate it the whole way though, if i were you and i didn't really know how to use it i would copy and paste the slide you have the music on , at least by doing that you will know that music is in the slide for sure . I done presentations in PowerPoint for a number of years and i can tell you for sure i could never really get the hang of it to me it was like a more advanced version of Microsoft word however i wont waffle on with my story of education

It's a combination of factors (so ignore those who simply use this as an opportunity to bash MS and the 360 :)).
MS were last to the market last gen with their first console (the XBox came out 18 months after the PS2), and therefore MS didn't want to make the same mistake this gen, hence the 360 was released first.
Also, for the last two generations, Sony completely dominated the market with the Playstation and PS2, where last gen, the XBox and GC were a *very* distant third place in sales and market share. So this gen, both MS and Nintendo wanted to improve their market share and BOTH have succeeded, MS by releasing the 360 early, Nintendo by releasing a different type of console.
And that's the problem. MS took a risk launching the 360 when they did. The final component to be completed, the Graphics processor (Xenos), wasn't available in development kits until less than two months before the console was launched! This means the *final* hardware would not have enough testing time to reveal the problem we see today. As I said, it was a risk, it could have worked perfectly and no-one would be pointing the finger of blame at MS. But there were problems, and the rest is history.

If the mac has word, you'll be okay. Also if it has pages. If it doesn't have either, try saving it as an .rtf (rich text) file and open in preview. You may have to open the application first and then open the file within the application.

It does matter. There is a compatibility issue between Word 2007 and Word 2003. As long as the Mac and Windows have some version of Word, it will work. If you are typing on the 2007 edition, and you want to email it to a 2003 or lower edition, do this: Save as%26gt;2003-94 Compatible. Hope it helps.

I had a friend who had this same problem. Stores like gamestop actually do sell third party power bricks for about $100. if you call up XBOX, and you are still under warranty, you can get a replacement from them but you have to send back your old brick.

That number is for Windows, not Word. It sounds like you have a trial version that is good for 25 uses or 30, 60 or 90 days. You should be able to use it free by pushing past the registration screen (ESC? Just Enter?) for that trial period.
At the end of the trial, and apparently without warning, it will let you read your files, but not edit them or create new ones. You have to purchase Microsoft Office 2007, or at least Word 2007, to do that.

Microsoft Office 2003-2007 has ALWAYS been available in volume licensing, ie, not retail box, not OEM, but an actual licensing program where you buy the media and the licenses.
It's required that you buy a minimum of 5 licenses to begin with, then for the next 2 years you can add 1 or more licenses at a time, at a discounted rate, for the duration of the 2 year period. There's a significant discount for open volume licensing but you have to meet certain requirements to qualify.
This is what businesses do that have hundreds of computers. Do you think they buy a boxed product or OEM version for each computer?

They'll try and repair it, otherwise they will replace it. Usually with a reconditioned unit.
If they have a hugh backlog of fixes, they will send a reconditioned unit and repair your one when they are able and have time. It will then be used as a reconditioned unit for someone else. On the very rare occasion, they have been known to return new units. Don't hold your breath on this though.

I have recently baught a new Microsoft Mouse "IntelliMouse 4.0 Explorer. With Vista as a operating system in my computer. I don't know why but when I scroll Itunes doesn't pickup the scroll movement properly; it still works but I have to spin my wheel in order to do that. However, for all of my other programs it works perfectly fine.

Ook.. I have an important document in word at the moment, My problem is I can't copy items within the program. When I have clipboard open and I highlight, copy, It will not go into the clipboard. If I copy something from an internet page, it will show up on the clipboard. If I cut something within word it will delete but not copy. It is a Microsoft Office word 2007 on Windows vista.

Every website I go to about the format wars basically says, Blu-Ray pwned HD DVD. So how does this affect Microsoft. Are they going to make Blu-Ray electronics?
Yes HD-DVD is doomed as reports are Toshiba is finally giving up.
This doesn't mean Microsoft's format failed. Microsoft did not make HD-DVD, Toshiba did. Microsoft merely included the technology in one of their products.
Since that product will eventually become a novelty item, execs at Microsoft are probably secretly relieved that they sold hd-dvd as an add-on rather than a standard, internal feature. But that relief will be tempered by the dread of knowing that now they have nothing but 9gb dvd to use for games, compared to the standard 25gb blu-ray every ps3 game is on. Now that hd-dvd is dying, the xbox is in real trouble.
It is not primarily a question of whether Microsoft is going to start using Blu-Ray, it is a question of whether Sony will ever allow them to, and if so, how much will Microsoft have to pay for it. It will be a lot, no doubt about that, if it ever happens. And I don't see any reason for Sony to allow it, or any legal reason why they should have to. The victory of Blu-Ray was the linchpin of the ps3's market strategy, and Sony will play it for all it's worth. There's a lot of lost money to be remade.

There is no safe way to do this. If you try to use it on a different machine from the one it was originally loaded to, the activation key will be cancelled, making the new copy unusable, and the actual disk unusable even for recovery.

one retail pack of microsoft office is supposed to work only on one computer. The product key will not allow you to install it on the other computer. Because the product key is not a volume licensed kind for you to use it on multiple computers.

I just got my PC reformatted from a PC business. I'm using the Microsoft Automatic Updates to Upgrade and download the Serrvice Pack 2. It Get's about 1/2 way done and basically stops downloading, or downloads EXTREMELY slow. My PC is brand new, no spyware...Anybody can help me out??
If it's peer-to-peer download you could have latched onto a slow or no peer.
It will take as long as it takes. I usally start that sort of download before I go to bed and let it have at it overnight.
download it manually off a website with a download manager.
windows update tend to not use all your bandwidth and sometime it will only download if you connection is idle.
try to get windows xp - pack 2 CD and download it.downloading from Microsoft is always problematic.you may have to switch off automatic downloads.though they created it,you don't have to believe Microsoft,they have become just ......... and try to thrive on our mistakes.i would even suggest you to do this if you get a pirated copy.
That happened to me before. The issue was with my harddrive, it continued to have spotty memory, and loose bits of data. Everything was great after I got it replaced, and the O.S. installed cleanly.

i open a .jpg image with microsoft office picture manager but its only shows 'other folder exist. the selected locations do not contain pictures to preview. Other folder or files exist but cannot be previewed.' how to solve it?
1. Check the format of the picture file and make sure that it's supported. (Is it a JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PCX, BMP, etc.)
2. Try to get another copy of the picture file. Maybe the data is corrupt.
3. Maybe office picture manager has been impacted by a virus or other malware. You could try to reinstall that program, or possibly look for a different graphics program.
4. If it is broken beyond all recognition, try to reinstall windows... that will fix anything (unless your hard drive has bad sectors or you have some other hardware issue).

I am using Microsoft Outlook for my Business email and for some reason there is an error saying I cannot connect to the pop server. When I click send and receive it only goes part of the way through it. Check that you have the correct SMTP address. This is for outgoing emails and is not the same as the POP3 address for incoming emails. Check with your email provider / internet provider for the correct addresses.

If you just want to use a desktop product, then you don't need to buy MS Project Professional. You really only need that if you going to buy MS Project Server as well. Otherwise you can just get MS Project Standard.
You can certainly use MS Project Standard to achieve some, if not all, of what you need. MS Project Server would definitely achieve what you need, but its a significant step up in terms of cost and complexity.

Microsoft Media center software comes with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition. It doesn't run on every PC. It is peripheral specific.
You can try using this OS. Try any Torrent sites or try using Bearshare or Limewire for free download.
I spend more time on security patches and working around their mess ups than I do accomplishing what I want to. How did they ever become the dominant software vendor? If I thought I could be that incompetent and get rich I would jump at the chance. I can't think of any other company in any other industry that could get away with such incompetance. Could you imagine buying a tv, oven, car, radio, airplane, toaster (ok my toaster isn't the best) that only worked correctly sometimes? The companies producing those products would loose all their customers and go out of business. How is it that Microsoft is able to keep making billions of dollars....hold a near monoply with their operating system and office products and still not be able to get it right? It is so frustrating....

First of all do View/Outline
Then do Format/Bullets and Numbering... then select the tab for Outline Numbered and choose the lower right panel that shows letters and numbers. Then it will behave as you want.

It may be possible! But this is just a workaround, and you may experience information loss. Now, there is only a way that I know of: use a PC simulator for Mac OS X, install the OS for that virtual PC namely a version of Microsoft Windows and then you may install a version of Microsoft Office on that virtual, emulated PC.
However, there are some issues!
For instance, you have to have loads of RAM (Random Access Memory) and enough free disk space in order to run the virtual machine. Keep in mind the, under emulator, running Microsoft Windows XP, 2003 or Vista under Mac requires that you have a quite powerful Mac PC. I recommend that you use Microsoft Windows 98 and 128 MB RAM with a 2GB HDD on the virual machine. If you know how to do it, then allow a partition on your Mac to be formatted with FAT 32 filesystem, so that both machines (the real one and the virtual, emulated one) can access that drive, this way you can share documents between these OSs. accessing an external partition (that is not included in the emulator) only depends on the emulator itself. Another idea is to use an external memory card (such as flash, if the emulator allows the usage of the USB port) to share such documents. If that doesn't work, than you may use an external server to store those files on: upload then form within Win 98 and download them from within Mac).

no it actually wont because the manufacturer os Mac is Apple and the manufacturer of microsoft office is microsoft itself. Windows is made by microsoft and so ms office will only work on windows.

I am thinking about purchasing a 30GB microsoft zune. Is it a good mp3, and how does it match up to the creative zen and ipod 30GB video in terms of durability, ease of mastery, and quality?
My friend has one and she seems to like it but it is HUGE. Bigger than a Sidekick phone or maybe around that size but too big for an mp3 player unless you won't be carrying it around a lot. Just from looking at it I wouldn't want one that big but I have no knowledge on how well they work.
I've got one and it works fine. The screen is really nice. The only problem with it though is that the software for it sucks and is not user friendly. But once you get it figured out, you're golden.

Microsoft has done student editions of their software for years. This is nothing new, they just announced it for the latest version is all.
If you're not in college/university, check with your school counselor. Otherwise hit the student bookstore.

I think they can. The features are there but what it will need is a flashy name and some good marketing. I mean ipod is a household name.
As for the name on the site MVNO, that sounds a lot like one of the older Creative mp3 players (Muvo, i think it was).
The Ipod is very popular but it's not the best there is. I have always felt that Creative's mp3's players are much better than the Ipod's, sadly the best products don't always become the most popular ones. From the point of services available the Ipod is definitly in a much better position.
The only problem microsft will have is trying to convince people why theres is better than anyother and convincing people they actually need one. Most people I know use thier mp3 players for a while and then it becomes a white elephant, or gets given to some kid. Kids seem to use them more.
They will have to make it a lot more reliable and safe to use than Windows
